David Gitare

David was appointed as the Chief Internal Audit and Risk Officer in October, 2018. David is a highly experienced internal auditor and risk management professional with 11 years’ experience from diverse industry backgrounds. Before joining Longhorn Publishers, he was the Head of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital where he provided advisory leadership in the implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework and championed the operationalization of an Ethics Reporting Line through which staff could raise concerns on integrity and ethical issues.
He holds a Master of Commerce degree (Forensic Accounting) from Strathmore University. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
