Maurice Kahara has been appointed to the position of Chief Commercial Officer reporting to the Group Managing Director, overseeing the Sales and Marketing initiatives across the segments for the entire Group. Kahara joined Longhorn in September 2001 and has had an illustrious career spanning 16 years. He started working at Longhorn as an Editorial Assistant and as he grew in his career, held positions of increased responsibility with the most recent one being that of National Sales Manager – Kenya. In this position, he has overseen the growth of Kenya Sales turnover by 46% over the last three years.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Communication & Linguistics) from Maseno University and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Corporate & Business Management at Kenya Methodist University.

Simon has over 20 years’ experience in Finance, Strategy, Leadership and Management. He joined Longhorn Publishers in May 2015 as the Group Managing Director. He has previously worked in Motor, Pharmaceutical and Publishing Industries

Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Nairobi. He is a member of Institute of Certifi ed Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and has attended a wide range of business and management courses both locally and internationally.

Mr. Ngigi’s main objective is to drive the growth agenda at Longhorn Publishers Ltd.

Maxwell Wahome joined Longhorn Publishers in September 2016 and has experience in Finance and strategy having previously worked for over 10 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Nairobi and Johannesburg. He has vast experience in the manufacturing, service, mining and FMCG sectors.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree ( Accounting) from the University of Nairobi, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Gogo has over 10 years’ experience in ICT field. He joined Longhorn Publishers in October 2014 having worked in the various sector like NGOs, Government, Private sector. He holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a BSC degree in Computer Science including trainings in CCNA, PMP, Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, MCITP Server Administration and Server Virtualization.

Rotich serves as the Chief Audit & Risk Officer for the Longhorn Publishers Group. He has extensive experience in the provision of Audit, Assurance and Risk Management guidance to organizations in the education, banking and manufacturing sector. Prior to joining the Longhorn Group, Rotich was a Regional Auditor at Kenya Tea Development Agency involved in providing oversight to 13 factory companies. Previous to this, he served as a Risk Assurance Officer at CfCStanbic Bank.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance), B.A -Economics (major) degree, a Professional Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management and is also an IRCA Certified Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor and a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Evans Rotich is the Chief Digital Officer Longhorn Publishers. He joined Longhorn Publishers in July 11, 2011 as a Science Editor (Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Home science and Primary Science). In 2013 he was appointed the E-learning & Examinations Editor having developed a lot of interest and passion in Digital Publishing. In August 2015, he was appointed the Chief Digital Officer.

Before joining Longhorn, Rotich worked as a Science Editor at Spotlight Publishers for 2 years and as a Biology and Chemistry teacher at Kerotet Girls High School for 4 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (BED Science) from Moi University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Moi University. He has gone through various short career courses from a number of technology firms locally and globally.

Moses Auta has been appointed to the position of Head of Publishing for the Group reporting to the Group Managing Director. Auta has held this position in acting capacity since April 2017 and has demonstrated high level leadership and commercial skills and the Board of Directors is confident in his ability to take the Publishing
Department to greater heights. Auta joined Longhorn in December 2002 as an Editorial Assistant. He has served diligently in the Publishing Department with his most recent position being that of Editorial Manager – Humanities. Over the last five months, he oversaw the submission of Grade One and Two of Communication
and Maths in Senegal and getting 100% approval; Phase Three Submission in Rwanda where Primary approvals, (English, Maths and Science), were achieved for the first time as well attaining only-approved status in five titles in Secondary (Kiswahili, Maths, Biology, Geography and Literature; Submission of 120 levellized readers to KICD for approval to be used in ECDE 1 and 2 and Lower Primary to mention but a few. Auta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences from Moi University and is currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy Degree in Communication Studies from the same University.
